Agent of Spurs wing-back reveals that ‘Milan and Juventus’ wanted his client

The agent of Destiny Udogie has suggested that AC Milan were in the running to sign his client before he ended up joining Tottenham.

Udogie came through the youth system at Hellas Verona and actually made his Serie A debut for the Gialloblu in a 2–2 draw away against Milan, then in July 2021 he joined Udinese on a season-long loan with an obligation to buy.

He made 37 appearances for the club that season playing mostly as a wing-back, and in August of this year Tottenham swooped in and secured a deal for the Italy U21 international, with him returning to Udinese on loan for the season being part of the deal.

Now, Stefano Antonelli – the agent of Destiny Udogie among others – spoke about his client and revealed that Milan and Juventus were keen before he moved to Udinese, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

“Tottenham took him off the market by buying him but previously Udinese were also good at overcoming the competition when Verona needed to sell him. Everyone would have gladly taken him, even Milan and Juventus but at that moment it was the Friulians who believed in it more than the others, paying 2.8 million euros,” he said.

“Obviously we often talk about Tottenham but he keeps telling me that he is very focused on Udinese. Obviously he speaks about Spurs, also because they are such an organised club that they have a person who deals with Udogie every day.”
