Agent confirms Okafor’s move to Milan was completed ‘in just a few days’

By Isak Möller -

Noah Okafor was AC Milan’s sixth signing of the summer window and his transfer almost came out of nowhere. In a recent interview, the agent of the player confirmed that it was indeed completed very quickly.

On Friday July 22nd, the news first broke and revealed an agreement between Milan and Salzburg at around €14m. The day after, the Rossoneri announced the transfer and Okafor officially became the sixth signing of the summer.

Speaking to Sky Italia, as cited by our colleagues at SempreMilan.it, one of Okafor’s agents Francesco Romano admitted that the whole operation came about very quickly. He stated that it was mostly thanks to the determination of Milan.

“Okafor’s operation was defined in just a few days, very quickly. They [Milan] were very convinced about the operation. Noah exploded when he was very young, he had great responsibilities at Salzburg where he arrived as a 17-year-old and, like everyone else, dreamed of a great club,” he stated.

Okafor recently recovered from an injury and thus didn’t feature for the Rossoneri during their pre-season tour in the United States. It remains to be seen if we will see him in one of the four friendlies scheduled for next week.

  1. please sign veliz before he moved to tottenham 🙁 idk but i do really think he’s the kind of player that we need for our striker spot. with all due respect to oli, he’s 37 and no elite team should be relying on a 37 yo player for goals. he would be an amazing mentor for veliz with all his of his experience and finishing traits. i hope and pray we could still make it.
