The agent of defender Pierre Kalulu has lifted the lid on why his client chose to reject a stay at Lyon in order to join AC Milan.
Our mercato correspondent Vito Angele recently confirmed to us that Milan have reached an agreement with the Lyon right-back over a five-year deal.
Kalulu is a much-needed reinforcement in what has been a problematic position for Milan all season, with Davide Calabria and Andrea Conti both struggling all campaign due to a combination of injuries, suspensions and a general lack of form.
He landed in Italy earlier in the month and underwent his medical examinations before heading to Casa Milan to sign his deal, but no official announcement has yet arrived.
We took a look at what we can expect from the latest addition to the youth revolution, while his agent Eduardo Marinho has lifted the lid on how negotiations unfolded with Milan.
“Milan approached us to get more information about the player, the family, the mentality and many other details. Pierre believes that Milan have the best sporting project for him, and believes that he can be very successful with the Rossoneri,” he told MilanNews.
“The conversation with Maldini was very important, it provided him with a complete overview of the league and club, as well as giving Pierre important advice. It is essential for young talents to have support from such experienced players, suggestions are important. Certainly his preferred position is right-back.”
