Agent sheds light on future of Calabria: “There are no priority options for Davide”

By Oliver Fisher -

The agent of AC Milan defender Davide Calabria has failed to rule out an exit for his client this summer but hinted his future is still to be deciphered.

Calabria and Andrea Conti have struggled for consistency all season leading to suggestions from a number of different media outlets that Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara will look to address the issue by signing a new starter.

As a result, it is predicted that the former will leave in the summer, partly because he will likely attract more interest but mostly because he will generate a pure capital gain having come through Milan’s youth sector.

Torino, Bologna, Real Betis and Sevilla have all been tentatively linked with the 23-year-old, and Miguel Alfaro – from YouFirst Sports who have recently become Calabria’s agency – spoke to calciomercato.it about his client’s future.

“David ended the season at great levels and in a great collective moment. He must just think about continuing like this and being ready to give his best,” he said.

“The reality is that in terms of age, performance and contractual situation, he is a very attractive profile. It is not easy to have played more than 100 games in a club with Milan’s ambitions coming from the youth sector.

“At this moment I would say that there are no priority options for Davide, despite what is being commented in the newspapers about his future and Spanish market. We will evaluate calmly and we will talk about it with Milan.”
