Sandro Tonali

Agent of Tonali discusses imminent Newcastle move: “At the beginning it wasn’t easy”

Sandro Tonali’s agent Giuseppe Riso has shed a bit more light on why the midfielder has decided to leave his boyhood club AC Milan and join Newcastle United.

According to Fabrizio Romano among other sources, the midfielder will join new Premier League power Newcastle for €70m including bonuses, and Tonali will get a potential €9m net per season for six years.

We tried to explain in a recent feature how the move would be received by the Milan fan base given the uncertainty of the project after Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara’s exit, but also what the future now holds with an increased operating budget.

Riso spoke during an interview with Sportitalia last night and he was asked about Tonali’s decision to swap the north of Italy for the north of England, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

“At the beginning it wasn’t easy to explain the project, but he is intelligent and he understood it immediately and we found the right solution for everyone: for Milan and for Sandro, who is going to gain experience in the NBA of football,” he said.

  1. Yeah totally we forced him to leave, and he didn’t want to leave at all

People who believed those nonsense rumours lmao, he wanted to go and we made the best of it.

    1. At this point everybody believes what he wants there is no evidence of anything and the agent is not helping. You think agents and players speak freely haha you’re so cute.

      1. and you think Tonali is ‘true Milanista’ when he’s been here like 2 years, so naive, thats exactly the type of crap Kessie and Dollarumma told Maldini before never signing extensions and bailing on a free

        1. We know nothing, including you unless you’re Sandro’s bff. There is one guy who’s been a big fan since he was 8 yo, took a pay cut to remain at the club, idolizing Gattuso, was always giving 100% on the field, beloved by the fans. He even cried when Zlatan retired. And there is a front staff relying on moneyball, coming from the financial world. You draw your own conclusions.

        2. Are you a true Milanista?

If you are contracted to Milan and they want to sell you to Newcastle so they can get €70m, will you help them to get the money by agreeing to the transfer?

          1. Just so you know, if you refuse, you might be viewed as preventing Milan to get €70m they wanted because of your ego, your unwillingness to sacrifice your childhood dream of playing with Milan.

          2. Lol sure, so your answer is to piss on your club while supporting Tonali,

what a fan, do you even like Milan?

          3. Piss on the club? 🤣

Did you even read my comment? 🤣

I didn’t even make any statement against Milan yet you say my answer is to piss on the club. 🤣

In fact, I didn’t answer anything. What I did was asking you a question but instead of answering it, you are evading it… 🤣

Will you refuse the move knowing Milan need the €70m for transfer budget?

If you trully love Milan, you should accept it, not refuse it. Milan’s need come first before yours.

          4. Oh right, I almost forget that you asked something. Yes, I am a Milan fan.

I also understand that Milan do not need to force Tonali as Tonali understand why Milan need the money so he is willing to help Milan get it.

    2. Of course Milan do not need to force Tonali. He immediately understand that the club he will do everything for want him to move so they can get €70m.

    3. So basicly you can read above that the agent says that it wasnt easy to explain to Tonali the “project” of him going to Newcastle. That’s plain saying that they needed to convince him to go. And yet here you are blaming others for beliving in nonsense when you are the one who belives that Tonali wanted to go himself, despite so many other things pointing out the other way.

  2. Tonali was on a long contract of 2,5mill net, if he refused to be sold when the club had clearly indicated that they want to sell him, his contract was not going to be renewed anytime soon, you dont renew a player you dont need, which means he was going to stay on 2,5mill for the next 3-4years, yet we all know that he is worth more than that, he has been earning salary increments over the years, such that this year it would have been right to increase it to say 4-4,5 where most of our good players are, but they told him that we want to sell you, so it came down to staying at milan earning 2,5mill for the next 4years, or 10mill at newcastle, he is 23 slowly getting old, he did the right thing, he sacrificed his salary before for milan, how long was he supposed to keep doing that, when others are getting what they deserve, seems the fact that ac milan is his boyhood club and his dream was being used too much against him, never for him, he had to lose the love of his heart, as he was not getting the same love back
    *my opinion*
Life goes on for both tonali and ac milan, hope RLC and other incoming midfielders will fight for the shirt the same way, LOL
