Injury-time goals and Leao success: All the key stats from Milan’s win against Empoli

AC Milan clinched three crucial points in their game against Empoli on Sautyrsat evening., It ended up being a very tough game for the Rossoneri, who scored two goals in injury time to secure the win. 

Fode Ballo-Toure was the unexpected hero as he made his way into the penalty box after Empoli’s 92nd-minute equaliser. He got his first goal for the club and that was then followed up by a goal from Leao in the final seconds.

Indeed, it was a dramatic win and even though Milan got three more injuries during the clash, there are some positives to take away. Below are the best stats from the game, from the official website

➤ Empoli v AC Milan is only the fourth game in Serie A history to have three goals scored in stoppage time (the most recent previously was Fiorentina v Lazio in January 2016).

➤ AC Milan have scored an injury-time winner for the first time since 24 April 2022, when Sandro Tonali’s goal saw the Rossoneri beat Lazio 2-1.

➤ Rafael Leão is one of just four players with at least four goals scored and four assists in Europe’s Top-5 leagues this season, along with Lionel Messi, Neymar and Dango Ouattara.

➤ Davide Calabria played in his 100th victory for the Rossoneri in all competitions, more than any other member of the current squad.
