Massimiliano Allegri looks set to steer AC Milan to their goal of a top four finish, which is step one of his second spell at the club.
As La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) write this morning, yesterday afternoon’s victory over Hellas Verona brought his Milan team significantly closer to qualifying for next season’s Champions League, given that the gap to fifth place is now eight points.
Allegri spoke more clearly than in recent weeks about his future, dispelling any doubts that had lingered about him taking the Italy job: “There hasn’t been a call [from Italy], and my thoughts are solely on Milan. We’ve started a journey together, and we’ll continue it together.”

In the pre-match interview he did with DAZN, sporting director Igli Tare also made statements about the coach, confirming the club’s desire to move forward with Allegri.
“There’s nothing to discuss about Allegri: he’s done an excellent job, he still has a long contract with us and, as he said yesterday [Saturday], he likes to plan, to develop a major project. That’s why we’re working together for a successful future,” he said.
Allegri’s requests
It’s no secret that the coach has already begun planning next season with the management, as he also confirmed after the game yesterday.
“For a few months now, we’ve been discussing the evolution of next year’s team. The club has done an excellent job in the transfer market and has combined a good mix of young players and more experienced players.
“However, the management is well aware that this season we have one competition, while next season, if we qualify for the Champions League, there will be two [plus the Coppa Italia]. That’s why we’ll have to review the number of players in the squad.”
The paper adds that Allegri’s transfer requests are quite clear: he wants a central defender, a central midfielder, a wing-back and a centre-forward, all with international experience. These four key players will then be joined by some young players to complete the squad.
However, the Milan coach’s focus is primarily on the four experienced additions, who shouldn’t be gambles, but ‘Rabiot-style’ players – those ready to contribute from day one.

What? No 10+ 10-20 million players?
The real question is, who are they selling this time to find more “dreams”. Who’s the next Tonali and Reijnders?
hope not cz we’ve too many useless players, sell Nkunku, Estu, Gimenez is better than sell 1of Leao/ Puli/ Mike/ Pav
Tare is good at selling, hope he continue
Leo
Gila, Goretzka, Grimaldo, Vlahovic
replace Goretzka with Bernardo Silva and we actually win the 2nd star next year
Not bad.
Vlahovic can’t even get through training without getting hurt…
i’ll go w/ Gila, SMS, Theo & Osimhen
Can we afford sms,Theo and oshimen
U better let’s cut our coat according to our Sze
Milan generated over €40m from merchandising and Jersey sales last season.
I can guarantee that if a star striker like Osimhen is bought, that figure would be almost double.
Adidas and Apple came together with Inter Miami to sponsor Messi’s transfer.
Look, I see no reason why PUMA cannot partner with Milan to fund his transfer for a percentage of his jersey to go directly in recouping the transfer fee. After all, the chunk of the merchandise sales goes to PUMA and will definitely earn more with branding for a global marketing brand like Osimhen.
Serie A teams need to be creative and think outside the box if they truly want to compete in the European stage.
Let him bring his list, the exact player names he wants so we have no excuses of players not fitting his style.
WHO SHOULD COME IN ORDER FOR US TO
AT LEAST BE ABLE TO FIGHT FOR THE TITLE:
Skriniar, Hernandez/Grimaldo/Robertson,
Lewandowski/Osimhen, Tonali (Goretzka);
+ Dodo and another quality center-back
WHO IS MUCH MORE LIKELY TO ARRIVE INSTEAD:
Gila/Kim, Parisi/(Giuseppe) Pezzella,
McKennie/Frendrup, Kean/Retegui;
In the past we had Kessia, Tonalli. We should target Gila, Paz, Adeyemi. Players that can win the CL. Thrift solutions will bring nothing.
Sta ti imas protiv Tonalija i Kesija? Slazem se da treba dosta ulagati, ali Sandro bi tu bio sve samo ne jeftina akvizicija.
We would be lucky to get Mckennie
4 is too many.
Focus on a striker and then see how much you have left over.
It’s not too many for & from him to ask, excuse me, to demand which is both MA’s right and obligation, on the contrary, that is a bare minimum needed…
4 is too many for what? For a competitive squad?
We also need to meet the home the grown player requirement to compete in the Champions League. No more random names coming from overseas.
We need a CF? So… Does that mean that Pulisic, Leao & Gimenez are staying? I doubt that. Some of them are leaving for sure which means we need more than one striker.
*We need only one CF?
And if we’re lucky Nkunku is leaving too. I won’t even mention the German…
Allegri should probably mention what tactical setup he’s trying to play with next season…
Indeed.
So he wants to continue with the back 5 and we’re doomed, cool
Milan should go for Paz and Gila
I would ditch Goretzka in favor of Ederson in a heartbeat.
Milan need 2 wing back. 2 central defenders. 2 attacking midfielder and 1 striker if Gimenez stays.
Sell/Loan out: Odugu loan out, Tomori sell, Athekame loan out, Estupiñán sell, Fullkrug send back,
Buy: Calafiori, Scalvini, Palestra, Udogie, B. Silva, Goretzka and Vlahovic or Kean.
I think a 3-4-3 would be great with this players and great rotation opportunities without a drop of level.
