CM: Allegri’s future at Milan hangs in the balance as Champions League race restarts

It seemed like AC Milan had printed their ticket to the Champions League a few weeks ago, but now questions are being asked of the Rossoneri.

In the past few weeks, there have been several questions about Milan and their next few games. After all, what should’ve been a tap-in for a spot in Europe’s premier competition has become anything but that.

Indeed, most thought that the Rossoneri had left the Champions League race and stayed well clear of entering the other. Instead, though, their standards have dropped and so have they, with a place in next year’s competition far from being guaranteed.

The loss to a Sassuolo side – who were good and should not be discredited – has caused panic on the streets of Lombardy, whilst their neighbours celebrated into the night after lifting their second Scudetto in three seasons.

Allegri’s future at risk

When Massimiliano Allegri was hired, it seemed like it would be a multi-year project; qualify for the Champions League again and then raise the bar. However, that first goal may not be achieved and the project could end.

Indeed, Calciomercato.com reports that without a place in sext season’s competition, Allegri’s future at the club would be at risk. The parties could decide to walk away from each other, due to the pre-agreed goals not being met and he may not be the only one to do so.

For Allegri, it is simply a results-based business; if he does not achieve them after promises from the management, he may not hesitate to walk away.

The final few weeks of the season, then, are bigger than just next season. It could be a multi-year issue if Allegri and his side do not finish in the top four…

  1. If we fail to even get UCL, he can take his darling favorite leao on the way out with him… the fact playing him and puli up top literally never worked and yet its still his favorite combination is unforgivable. There’s stubbornness, and then theres stupidity…

    1. Its like you slow minded.
After scudetto season, Americans started players sales, salary cups, plusvalenzas….etc.
Team started to concede a lot of goals and they dropped 8th.
This season Allegri arrived and used 3 5 2. In first part of season he managed to cut conceded goals by a lot.
But again very poor transfers of usa management, like Nkunku, Jashari, where they spent almost all money for nothing, injuries of Leao and Pulisic, and other circumstances, Milan dropped a lot.
Why Allegri use Leao and Puli on top?.
Because he use 3 5 2 to fill the hole team had before and statistically they are 2 with most scored goals, before both get injury and even after.
At the end of course management and owner will blame Allegri.
Because they still have someone to sell to to.make balance in black.
So they will save them selfs and bring another plonker so you can comment and many others overpay tickets for stadium.

  2. Allegri has no strikers, he has no choice , No forward are scoring and any combination won’t work anyway…..it’s probably the worst forward players Milan ever had, even worse than last season!!

    1. I don’t think you can say he has no strikers. Santi is back and able to start. The bigger issue is not picking the starting lineup correctly to give us the best chance at getting a positive result.

Bartesaghi should have started in place of Estupinan unless he was injured. Jashari has had a few minutes of good play this year so He probably should have moved Fofana to the defensive midfielder position and played RLC on the right. De Winter has played well in 2026 and should have started in place of Tomori, and finally, even a Pulisic in a slump is better than Nkunku on his best day. At least Puli tracks back and gives effort, not to mention you need to build his confidence and let him know you plan on sticking with him even through the bad times. I also would have given serious consideration to playing Santi in place of Leao to try to find the chemistry he had with Pulisic the first 10 games of the year. A more controversial move would have been starting Athekame in place of Salad since he looks so tired.

This is the issue, not the formation. Play your best players who give you the best chance of winning.

  3. Giving your money to people like Furlani, Moncada, and Tare to spend is only unserious but also idiotic. It is never about how much you spend, it is always about how smartly you spend it. So RedTurd spending means absolutely nothing if the people who run the club only bring in clowns who do not deliver results.
