FirenzeViola: Allegri to have important say as Milan could keep Sottil – the latest

Despite not being used much during his time on loan at AC Milan, Riccardo Sottil could actually remain at the club.

FirenzeViola report that while Fiorentina’s directors are evaluating who will replace Raffaele Palladino as the new head coach, Milan are reflecting on Sottil. The Rossoneri recently announced both the arrival of Igli Tare as the new director and Massimiliano Allegri as the new coach, so it is all-change.

The winger joined Milan on loan in the winter transfer window with an option to buy set around €10m. However, he made just eight appearances in total, with six coming in the league and two in the Coppa Italia, without having scored a goal or provided an assist.

Despite this, the Milan management have not yet completely ruled out the possibility of keeping him for next season, even though the possibility of him being bought permanently for the €10m previously agreed has already been ruled out.

Milan will soon speak with his agent, then will also meet with Fiorentina. Another year on loan with the Rossoneri could be on the cards for him. Much will also depend on the word of Allegri, who will soon begin to discuss future transfer plans with his new club.

  1. Milan cannot consider themselves a serious club with players like Sotill. I can name numerous players miles better than him.

  2. I honestly think he wasn’t given enough game time to evaluate his performance and any evaluation from any fan would be a blind one

  3. Sotill, Okafor, Chukuweze etc….all terrible signings. Have contributed ZERO. Add Emerson, Musah Terraciano Jovic Tammy – next to nothing. Clean house and Move on
