‘More positive energy’ – Allegri praises Cardinale’s presence before Genoa clash

After the win against Genoa, Massimiliano Allegri has praised the AC Milan owner, Gerry Cardinale, for his presence.

There has been a lot of toxicity around Milan in recent weeks and Cardinale’s interview last week aimed to settle things slightly. Thankfully, it appears it did as the focus shifted to his presence, rather than the importance of the game.

Then, he appeared at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris to support the team, even entering the dressing room to try to motivate his team to get a big result. Of course, we know they managed to fulfil that task, making a big step towards the Champions League.

It is a monumental result and his closeness to the team is again being proven.

Allegri thanks Cardinale

Cardinale is seemingly seeking a higher proximity to the team, with his relationship with the Rossoneri lacking that in recent years. To show his appreciation for these efforts, Allegri praised the owner for his presence as MilanNews relayed from his interview with Sky.

It was the most complicated week…

“It’s normal to be happy, but we haven’t achieved anything yet: we still need to get three points. I have to thank the lads for regaining their composure: we had two or three situations where we could have been more effective. It was important to get the result: we need to regain our energy because we’ve spent a lot of mental effort.”

Was Cardinale’s presence and words fundamental?

“It’s fundamental, but I think I’ve always said that. In a pyramid scheme: the club comes first, then the club has to be strong, because if it is, everyone becomes stronger and better. Cardinale came to talk before the match, and there was a more positive energy.”

  1. Is that an admission of willingness to work together from Max? Or is that his usual pro-club stance.
