CM: Milan or Fiorentina could land striker for less than €20m clause as he will push for move

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan should be able to land Julian Alvarez for a lower amount than his stipulated release clause because of his contract situation, a report claims.

Alvarez came through the academy at River Plate and he has exploded this season, racking up 15 goals in 16 league games with 6 assists playing as a centre-forward. This includes a run of 10 goals in his last 6 appearances, and 4 in his last game over the weekend which featured a nine-minute hat-trick.

Calciomercato.com reports that there is a release clause of €20m inserted in Alvarez’s contract with River Plate, however this could be easily circumvented by Milan or Fiorentina who today today are the clubs most interested in the 21-year-old.

The source claims that they could be able to snatch the Argentine international at a cheaper price given that his contract expires in December 2022. While Alvarez does not want to leave on a free transfer so as not to economically punish the club that helped him grow, he will push for a move to Italy.
