Massimo Ambrosini has suggested that Igli Tare will be used as a scapegoat by AC Milan, despite the fact that he deserves the smallest share of blame.
Tare was announced by Milan at the start of last summer, taking on the role of sporting director, and there was enthusiasm over the Rossoneri finally having an experienced director. However, the outcome of the 2025 summer business was far from ideal, with most expensive players struggling.

As such, the former Lazio director is now expected to leave the club at the end of the season. He might not be the only one to depart the club management, but he will be the first. As argued by the Milan legend Ambrosini (via MilanPress), he can be likened to a scapegoat.
“After the match against Lazio, Milan gave up psychologically: that’s a fact. Whether it was caused by a lack of motivation or something else, I don’t know, but what’s filtering through speaks of a situation that can’t continue like this.
“The perception is that something has happened. Now, it’s impossible to think that, even with the result achieved, Cardinale won’t take charge of Milan’s situation. He has to do it.
“Of all the figures involved, I think Igli Tare is the one to blame the least, but, in my opinion, he will be the one who pays the price,” he stated on the podcast Cronache di Spogliatoio.
It remains to be seen if we will ever get to the bottom of which director pushed for which players last summer, as that is a pretty important part of the story. If it turns out Tare was against Christopher Nkunku, for example, that would put things in a different light…

Yeah, Ambro, we already knew that even from before the run of bad results. It’s been 3 years, we know how they operate. Shameless, incompetent, but with all the power in the world as long as fans buy tickets and there are no potential buyers.
only correct answer…
Furlani is not the guy to be anywhere close to this club;
Allegri’s success rates are becoming shorter, without flexibility you can’t win in modern football. Even Conte who is more creative that Max struggles at UCL, cause the rest are just better fit for today’s game;
Tare/D’Amico won’t make that big of a difference and at least Tare knows the job now, D’Amico would need time to adjust and I guess WC does help. Maldini and Xabi are only solutions for us.
“Maldini and Xabi are ONLY solutions for us.”
You must be high on crack.
Maldini yeas, but Xabi stop overhyping him, let’s at least wait 1 season to judge him, he has great potential, though it’s still too early.
Let me remind you that we are Italian team, we need a decent Italian Coach, in our tradition we used to look for a potential decent coach not an already famous and established one.
The least? He spent 160M on bench players that Allegri didn’t want. Furlani, Ibrahimovic, him, whatever. They should all be booted out of the club, but it won’t happen.
Yeah, it’s Moncada who has the décision power for the recruitement department
