Carlo Ancelotti met with the Real Madrid management after last night’s defeat to AC Milan to discuss his future, a report claims.
Milan pulled off what many would consider to be a rather surprising result in the Champions League as they ran out 3-1 winners against the current holders at the Santiago Bernabeu, and it was fully deserved too.
According to Marca, Real Madrid’s leaders met with Ancelotti after the 4-0 El Clasico defeat against Barcelona but after another negative result against the Rossoneri they spoke with him again because ‘they wanted to get his thoughts in the heat of the moment’.
As our colleagues at Football Espana relay, Ancelotti ‘was asked whether he felt capable of turning things around’ and if he felt that the Real Madrid squad still believed in his ideas. However, the dialogue was far from at the crisis levels of just before Rafael Benitez and Julen Lopetegui were fired.
Ancelotti told his superiors that he believes the players are still on his side despite the last two results at the Bernabeu, but a turnaround is expected soon before things turn even more sour. Madrid’s next five games are Osasuna, Leganes, Liverpool (Champions League), Getafe and Athletic Club.
Yes, please, Real leaders, fire Ancelotti!!! Then, Carlo, come back to Milan!!!
It is ridiculous, if this article is real and not just a rumor, for their leadership to question the best coach in the entire world (fresh of being crowned the same by Ballon d’Or) just because his team lost to teams that played very well and have quality too, like Barcelona and Milan. It happens. They did crush Dortmund.
Yes, Real does seem a bit unbalanced after Mbappé joined, but I’m sure they will bounce back. They have too much quality, and Ancelotti is a great coach.

I definetly think they can bounce back. When it comes to them, you feel that football is scripted. No matter how well you outplay them, you’ll end up losing.
Ancelotti isn’t the problem.
It’s a poorly constructed team.
They were outplayed in every knockout stage of UCL last season but somehow pulled off miracles. Even in the final Dortmund was better than them.
Instead of spending money to fix their problems they brought in a diva like Mbappe, a player they didn’t need and have no place for in the lineup for.
They have no fullbacks, no midfielders, no strikers. All they have are wingers.
Their right back is a natural winger.
They lost Benzema and instead of replacing him with another striker, they collect wingers.
They lost Casemiro and Kroos and kept signing wingers.
That kid Arda Guler instead of picking a team where he would play he was making a decision based on who his favorite club is and now he rots on the bench.
Ancelotti will pay the price but that won’t fix their problems
Yup Arda turned down Milan for Madrid too
We can take both Ancelotti and Mbappé off your hands if you feel they are the problems.
I love it!
Yep. Throw in Guler as well if they don’t mind.
