Mediaset: Ancelotti could leave Real Madrid – ‘romantic’ Milan return an option

As we approach the end of the season the chances of Carlo Ancelotti leaving Real Madrid are growing, with AC Milan and Roma on alert.

As SportMediaset report, being the head coach of Real Madrid can be a constant battle. The expectation is always continue winning, to lift trophies continuously. Even if Ancelotti has done it many times, there is no mercy: he must do it again, again and again.

Gratitude is not part of Florentino Perez’s qualities and so Ancelotti – a man who has won three Champions Leagues with Los Blancos – will be forced to say goodbye if he ends the season empty-handed.

In the event that he were to recover in LaLiga and win the title (Barcelona are currently four points away), and also come back against Arsenal in the return leg (after a 3-0 first leg defeat), Carletto could stay in his place.

The possible replacement

Some sources in Spain believe that he will leave regardless, also because at certain moments of the game at the Emirates it did not seem that the Real players were paying particular attention to him.

Thinking the worst, Perez has already prepared himself by evaluating other candidates. The hot name is still Xabi Alonso, the former Real Madrid midfield star and the architect of the Bayer Leverkusen miracle.

He has already postponed the moment of his arrival in Madrid after staying at Leverkusen for this season, but this time he would go without too many problems. Andoni Iraola of Bournemouth is also popular, given the job he is doing.

Where Ancelotti may go

It is inevitable, in the case of Ancelotti’s farewell, to think about the future of one of the most successful coaches in the history of football, holder of the record for Champions Leagues lifted to the sky and titles won in the top five European leagues.

There have been a lot of rumours regarding the Brazilian national team and while it would be a beautiful crowning achievement for his career to win the World Cup, there are internal obstacles from those who cannot conceive of the Seleçao being led by a foreign coach.

So the ‘romantic’ suggestion remains standing, that of a return to Serie A at the helm of the clubs where he played and loved so much: Roma or Milan. Both are looking for a coach and happy to think of him on their bench.

Given that Ancelotti has experienced almost everything that football can give already, he could decide to ‘downsize’ his demands, economically and in terms of prestige, going for a job that would satisfy his heart.

  1. It would be a dream to have Ancelloti with us come next season. Unlike most coaches, his return to former club has proved to be more successful.

He will be able to get the best from our squad that most of us believe are not good enough for Milan. He might even make Leao to become a world best player contender.

  2. Milan is now a rumour mill. From a DS, to coach, to management, every where is a place to make outrageous rumours for our consumption. That’s how chaotic the club has become. During Summer it would be worse.

  3. Ancelotti has passed his prime as a coach, just like Mourinho or Mancini. He is a good, even great may be. But his time has passed. But if the target is qualify in champion league of course he still be able to fulfill it. Football now needing some new approach, new idea, from a younger profile.. And old school manager will no longer sit in the elite categories..

    1. so tell me from all the candidates, who is the latest won a trophy, i mean real trophy, league/ CL?
i don’t care if it’s old-school or new gen coach, i want Milan as winer.. i’m tired of mediocrity, Fonsi & Consesio is young right? new gen coach?
it’s not the 1st time people said Carletto is done

      1. Conte, klopp,.. With the current players at milan winning the league title is something absurd. Conte with Napoli still compete to win the title, but napoli spent a lot last summer.. Without champion league next year, it is impossible cardinale spend much in transfer market. This year Milan spent a lot too, although most of the are flops. Fonseca and conceao are young, of course they are. But they are not proven succes, sorry Portuguese league title do not count, milan choose them because of their potential.. Even a Frank de Boer had potential in the eyes of thohir..

  4. Ancelotti is an all-time great coach and a favourite of mine. But that doesn’t mean he can have success everywhere.
He generally does well in teams that have already world-class players and high quality individuals even if said team is not necessarly well organized or balanced.
But if you look at the current AC Milan, you’ll notice quickly that world class players we do not have. We have some good players but the majority are either average or mediocre, not good enough to succeed under Ancelotti. But who knows ? He has a bit of this miracle aura around him.

  5. Please no more ancelotti, Ricci or else. We must move on. The man who come back to Milan with their great success in the past was never successful. Like capello and Sacchi…

  6. Romanticism in Milan is dead since the Wall Street predators fired a walking legend and sold the life long fanboy. It’s only greed and egotrip now. Hilarious to think that any top coach would step into this toxic mess. Watch Don Carlo take the job at Juventus while the clowns find another cheap yes man.

  7. We don’t want failure anceloti is lucky man with no tactics his game plan is bit better but no tactics he is dependent by luck

    1. de zerbi has coached Benevento, Sassuolo, Shakhtar, Brighton, Marseille —–> no major clubs, no major titles….Italiano ——> Spezia, Fiorentina, Bologna ….no major clubs, no major titles

      1. Italiano is coaching his way up, quite successfully too if I may add. I don’t think he’s ready for a top club yet. Needs at least another year at Bologna, or maybe even step into Napoli.

But if he keeps it up, he’ll get picked up by a top club eventually.

        1. yeah not a bad coach…but big market club with high expectations and pressure not in his resume yet…do we really need banter era 2.0 to continue with a coach that has potential?

  8. Carlo is that larger-than-life type coach who can transform not just a team, but a whole club. That’s what Milan need. Someone who players actively wants to play for.

Klopp is still my dream, but Carlo is right up there too. Management would need to back home economically 👌

  9. Allegri, Conte, De Zerbi, Gasperini, Sarri, Fabregas, Italiano….am I missing someone? These “journalist” have no idea and are just creating click bait….Banter Era 2.0

  10. Realistically…Allegri or Sarri would be the best choice…both have experience in serie a, have won titles and are available. The thought we can just snake a coach away from a current club/contract or that we should hire an unproven coach(no titles) like Italiano or De Zerbi is a recipe for more pain.

  11. So predictable to throw Carletto name into the rumor mill… LOL!!! Carletto should take it easy and retire after a glorious career. The man is a legend. No need to stain his resume by coming back to this disaster under these jokers.

  12. Anceloti can win in club with world clas players otherwise he will failed because he doesn’t have tactics he isn’t guardiola he isn’t insaghi he isn’t gasperini he is just lucky man this is the players he won with nesta Maldini cafu stam gattuso pirlo kaka sedorf Shevchenko insaghi Crespo at ac milan also ramos kroos modric casamiro Ronaldo bensema and so on — these players can win without couch that’s why he is lucky man at Everton he was failure at Napoli almost he failed

    1. yeah he manages high profile personalities / players well, but lacks as a coach…especially with a younger inexperienced “fresh” team

  13. If a manager were on this platform reading fans’ takes about hiring Ancelotti, they’d probably scoff, walk away, and conclude that fan opinions are irrelevant.

Many fans don’t even seem to know what they want.Fans clamor for an Italian manager who’s passionate about success for the team, yet they talk sh.its about Carlo Ancelotti relentlessly claiming his tactics are outdated, but he consistently competes against teams using the latest strategies—and often wins.

We saw the same skepticism with Conte, and now Conte is proving everyone wrong.

And to even imagine calling Mike Maignan injury-prone, I can only laugh.

At this junction, I think the management should do what they think is best for the club and ignore us—our takes don’t deserve to be taken seriously.
