Andre Silva reveals he is happy at Eintracht Frankfurt but confesses Ibrahimovic regret

By Oliver Fisher -

Andre Silva has revealed that he is happy at Eintracht Frankfurt, but did not hide his regret at missing out on the chance to play with Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The Portugal international joined Milan during the summer transfer campaign of 2017, arriving in a big money €38m move from Porto.

However, he never really hit the ground running during his time at San Siro and having been loaned out to Sevilla last season, he then joined Eintracht Frankfurt on a two-year loan on deadline day during the last summer window.

The 24-year-old has netted eight goals in 23 appearances in all competitions since his move, and there have been numerous reports claiming that the player are both thinking about making his deal permanent.

The Portugal international was interviewed by La Gazzetta dello Sport about his experience so far in Germany, and he didn’t hide a small bit of regret.

“I want to grow, I want to learn. For this reason it would have been nice to play with Ibrahimovic. He is one of the best of this era, being with him would have helped me,” he said (via MilanLive).

“Things are going well now. In a couple of years, especially at my age, you can grow a lot, even as a man. I am more experienced and mature. In two years you can work a lot on yourself.

“A couple of seasons have passed since my last season at Milan. In Frankfurt I had the opportunity to show off, I had confidence. I am happy to be here.”

André Silva was then asked a very specific question: can he see himself protagonist at Milan?

“At the moment I’m a Milan player, on loan at Eintracht. I can’t know what will happen. Regardless of club, competition or country, however, I want to be a protagonist,” he said.

“Those who are ambitious always want to win. I can’t predict the future, I can only comment on the present and it’s in Frankfurt. And I will do everything possible to make it rich in success.”
