AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli chose not to call up midfielder Lucas Paqueta due to the fact he was unimpressed with his performance in training.
After a difficult 2019-20 campaign for the Brazilian playmaker, the media speculation suggests that Milan are looking to sell Paqueta if a team offers the right amount.
Eyebrows were raised on Wednesday when it was confirmed that Pioli had left Paqueta out of the 20-man squad for Thursday’s trip to face Shamrock Rovers in the Europa League, given the fact Ante Rebic and Rafael Leao will miss out.
According to Vito Angele, Paquetá not being called up is a technical choice from Pioli. The Rossoneri head coach is not satisfied with his performance in training and the club’s management are continuing to try and sell him on the market.
Despite previous denials from the Lyon president, the French club remains interested in signing the ex-Flamengo star, Angele adds.
