Houssem Aouar has decided to change national team and he could soon change club side as well, with AC Milan reportedly among the sides in the mix.
According to Calciomercato.com, Aouar has decided that he will wear the Algerian national team shirt from now on after having played for the French national team from the Under 17s to the Under 21s, even making his senior debut with Les Bleus.
If his international future is resolved, the one at club level is not and it is an intricate situation. Aouar’s contract with Lyon expires at the end of the season and he has been offered to Milan and Roma through his entourage, while Real Betis are also interested.
The 25-year-old enjoys the esteem of sporting director Ricky Massara, but at the moment Milan have Charles De Ketelaere, Brahim Díaz and Yacine Adli in that role, while Mourinho has always respected him and could give him more space.
The last word will be up to the player, called to take a big step forward in his career after making a decision regarding his international future.
Isn’t he a Regista rather??
I think he can be but a regista doesn’t really fit in a 4-2-3-1. Remember how Pirlo was always flanked by two other midfielders who ho can provide defensive cover usually Gattuso and Ambrosini.
