Marko Arnautovic has insisted that the Inter squad are ‘extremely motivated’ to beat AC Milan in the derby, with the game now just six days away.
Arnautovic spoke during a press conference as part of the Austrian national team retreat and he was asked about the build-up to the derby.
The former Bologna man revealed that Hakan Calhanoglu also called him in anticipation of the eagerly awaited match against the Rossoneri, with his comments relayed by PianetaMilan.
“Hakan Calhanoglu called me just before. The wait is great, each of us is extremely motivated, obviously we want to win the game. But this also applies to Sweden [where he will play with Austria], where we too want to win. It could be an important week,” he said.
Milan were heavily linked with a move Arnautovic earlier in the summer as he was believed to be a transfer target put forward by Paolo Maldini before he was sacked as the technical director.
Calciomercato.com‘s Cristiano Ruiu actually stated that Maldini had verbally agreed a deal for Arnautovic. Now, the former West Ham man will aim to score against the Rossoneri.
Ana is a joker.
Of course they are motivated. Even big clubs like Real and… erm… okay that’s the only bigger club than Milan, is always motivated against Milan, so you can bet your life that all the tiny clubs would love nothing more than to snatch a few points from us.
