Galetti: Arsenal and Man City monitoring Milan star as Chelsea interest fades

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan winger Rafael Leao is now attracting interest from Arsenal after they missed out on Mykhaylo Mudryk, a report claims.

According to journalist Rudy Galetti’s column for Tribal Football, Leao and his entourage are in talks with the Milan management over extending his deal but his future remains uncertain and this has attracted the attention of some Premier League teams.

Chelsea were very interested in signing Leao but the arrival of Mudryk means a left winger no longer a priority. The two English sides most interested are Arsenal – who now need an alternative to Mudryk – and Manchester City.

The Citizens have been watching Leao’s situation for some time, and both clubs know that if the Rossoneri were to miss out on qualifications for the next Champions League it could mean having to sell the former Lille man to raise funds, as it would obviously complicate the renewal plans massively.

  1. If there’s any justice in world ManCity won’t be playing in UCL for a couple of years. Does that rule out City as an option for Leao or is he in it only for the money? If City is out, Leao’s options are getting fewer and fewer. Chelsea has enough wingers. Arsenal? Not sure they can afford him. Spanish giants aren’t interested. PSG? Maybe.
