AS: Real Madrid boss Zidane wants Milan midfielder but renewal is ready – Man Utd star among alternatives

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie is attracting the interest of Real Madrid, a report claims, but they have two alternative targets in mind.

According to Diario AS, the 24-year-old Ivory Coast international  has caught the attention of top clubs in Europe and among them is Real Madrid, with Kessie ‘to Zinedine Zidane’s liking’ to the extent that contacts with his entourage have begun.

Kessié has a contract until June 2022 and the Milan management are studying a renewal offer to try and keep him out of the clutches of the top clubs. The idea is to offer him a five-year extension at €4m net per season, therefore a €20m commitment over the duration of the contract and around €40m gross (pre-tax).

In the offices of the Bernabéu they know that one of the priorities is to find a midfielder to replace the 35-year-old Luka Modric, with Manchester United’s Paul Pogba and Stade Rennes’ Eduardo Camavinga.
