Striker Luka Jovic rejected the chance to join Chelsea as he wishes to establish himself at Real Madrid, according to a report from Spain.
Pioli stated during an interview with DAZN earlier in the week that he feels he is well stocked in the attacking department thanks to the positive signs shown in preseason by Lorenzo Colombo.
However, there are sources that believe Milan will see what opportunities are available late in the window to give Pioli some help in the forward department, with Luka Jovic arriving on loan a possibility not to be excluded.
According to Monday’s edition of AS (via SportsMole) though, Jovic has apparently already rejected the chance to join Chelsea earlier this summer because he doesn’t want to leave Real Madrid, even on loan.
The Serbia international scored just twice after arriving from Eintracht Frankfurt in a big money move last summer, leading to suggestions he could spend time out on loan in 2020-21.
Chelsea reportedly made an approach before agreeing a deal to sign Timo Werner from RB Leipzig, while the report adds that Milan, Napoli and Monaco have also showed an interest.
Jovic did not play a single minute of Real Madrid’s 0-0 draw against Real Sociedad in their opening LaLiga game of the season on Sunday.
