MN: Three-time UCL winner has not renewed with Real Madrid – Milan could try again

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan could make yet another attempt to sign Marco Asensio given his deal with Real Madrid is expiring, a report claims.

According to the latest from Anto Vitiello in his column for MilanNews, Asensio hasn’t renewed his contract yet which means at present he would be available on a free from June, while Milan have tried a couple of times to sign him.

Given that nothing points towards an extension at present, Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara could try again but the question will be the salary that the player will ask for, in addition to the commissions desire from his agent Jorge Mendes.

The 27-year-old Asensio has made 269 appearances for Real Madrid across all competitions with 56 goals and 29 assists in his nine-year spell in the Spanish capital. He has won LaLiga three times with them and the Champions League three times as well as nine other trophies.

  1. Asensio would be a coup for us. His CV is incredible and his pedigree is world class Madrid through and through. Imagine a Leao-New Striker-Asensio forward line next season? His experience, winning mentality and class would be a top notch addition to the squad AND he is still only 26.
