Assistant Baresi analyses Milan Futuro’s draw with Campobasso after Bonera sees red

Daniele Bonera was sent off in the first half of Milan Futuro’s 1-1 draw with Campobasso last night, meaning his assistant had to take on media duties.

The Rossoneri’s second team took a positive step forward after recent disappointing league results by coming from behind to earn a draw against Campobasso who are currently eighth in the league table.

The home side took the lead just seven minutes into the game and Di Nardo converted a cross unmarked, but Milan drew level just after the half-four mark when Dariusz Stalmach converted Chaka Traore’s feed.

Bonera’s right-hand man Alessio Baresi gave an interview to Milan TV at the end of the match against Campobasso because of the red that came for protesting in the first half, and MilanPress relayed his comments.

“It is worth highlighting the great performance the boys gave. They were in the game, they were even after conceding the goal,” he said.

“We risked it a bit because we wanted to win, we tried and we had some good chances. Luck didn’t help us today, but the boys leave with the knowledge that we can start again from here and they had the right attitude.

“I want to say something because I spoke to the coach. He apologises for what happened, even though he was silent for 35 minutes, he stood up for a second to make a gesture of protest and the referee decided so. But he wants to set an example and he is the first who cares about these things, so I wanted to say it.

“Stalmach? At the moment he hasn’t felt the jump from the Primavera to the U23 at all, because he’s a player with a great personality, he’s giving great responses, as is Chaka. I think many others have given signals today.

“These are the situations we need most because these guys are young, they’re on a journey and I think they’re getting out of the difficulties and we’ll definitely get out of them.”
