Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has revealed his belief that Alvaro Morata will not return to Italy this summer amid links with AC Milan.
Calciomercato.com report that Morata dreams of a return to Italy and negotiations with Milan and Roma are continuing to move forward even if there are still various hurdles to be overcome.
The president of Atletico Madrid – Cerezo – confirmed his feeling that Morata will not be going back to Serie A during an interview with Partidazo de Cope.
“Azpilicueta will sign and be presented on Friday. There is no news on Morata. These rumours surprise me, but I don’t think he will go to Italy,” he said.
Sky reported last night that Milan have offered Morata a four-year contract worth €4m net per season and are evaluating how much the overall package might cost.
The Spaniard – who still has three years on his contract with Atleti – has a release clause of €10m (approximately €12m when including taxes) as per the source.
Whether Cerezo’s comments are a reflection of the costs that would be involved or if it is because the player has expressed a desire to stay remains to be seen.

If they spent already 16 on rlc, probably 22 goes for Pulisic. That’s more than half of Tonali. Chukwueze would be decent singing so more money for investments are needed for striker and another midfielder.
In that case Origi Caladara Rebic Ballo Toure and Messias sales are necessary to cut wage bill and bring revenue for last 2 arrivals.
Wonder if patetiko has a plan for life without Morata. He was their main ST last season and no one else in the team, as it is, can take his spot.
