CM: Bakayoko may block Milan’s market – he could stay but is unlikely to play

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are still looking for a midfielder despite missing out on Renato Sanches and Carney Chukwuemeka, but an exit is needed first.

Calciomercato.com report how Stefano Pioli is currently relying on Sandro Tonali, Ismail Bennacer, Rade Krunic, Tiémoué Bakayoko and Tommaso Pobega, in addition to the versatile Yacine Adli. In the weeks remaining from now until the end of the market (1 September), Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara will wait to see what opportunities the market may present.

However, a departure would be necessary to make room for a new signing. At the moment, the main suspect is Bakayoko for whom Galatasaray recently made an enquiry, but no real negotiations have yet begun.

The Rossoneri will have the obligation to buy the Frenchman outright at the end of the season if he collects at least 15 appearances, but Pioli does not consider him fundamental and his stay is in the balance.
