Di Marzio: Bakayoko closing in on move to fellow Serie A club

By Oliver Fisher -

There could be some movement through the exit door for AC Milan on deadline day as Tiemoue Bakayoko is reportedly close to sealing a move away.

Gianluca Di Marzio reports that after rejecting the chance to join Vincenzo Montella at Adana Demirspor, Bakayoko is finally ready to say goodbye to Milan. The Rossoneri midfielder is wanted by fellow Serie A club Cremonese, who are making moves on the penultimate day of the January transfer window.

The player has been convinced to remain in Italy and to move to the club coached by Ballardini. Only the definitive green light from Cremonese is missing and then the negotiation can finally be completed.

Bakayoko has collected 60 appearances with the Milan shirt, scoring 1 goal and adding one assist across Serie A, the Coppa Italia and European competitions, but having not played a single minute of the 2022-23 season so far in what is the final year of his two-year loan from Chelsea.

  1. We should actually swap loans with Salernitana.
    Bakayoko for Meite.
Melte instantly becomes our top 3 midfielder. And it might not be 3rd in that order either.

  2. Cremonese won’t be able to pay enough to motivate him to switch teams. He doesn’t want to play and gets good money for it.
