French midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko may be heading back to Chelsea in January which could have a positive effect on AC Milan’s transfer window, a report claims.
As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Pianeta Milan), Bakayoko has been the big disappointment in the squad over the past year or so.
He joined on a two-year loan deal but Milan are trying to find a way to send him back to the Premier League club. Milan are obliged to buy Bakayoko if certain clauses are met such as appearances, but he is yet to play at all this season.
If they can send him back to Chelsea early, they will not need to pay his wages for the rest of the season and that could give Milan more freedom to make a signing late in January.
Vincenzo Montella’s Adana Demirspor have been trying to sign him but Milan would rather he went back to Chelsea first.
