QS: Bakayoko’s salary proving too high for Milan departure in January

By Euan Burns -

Tiemoue Bakayoko’s salary is proving to be a major stumbling block when it comes to AC Milan offloading the on-loan midfielder, a report claims.

As has been reported by Quotidiano Sportivo (via Milan News), the French midfielder is completely out of the plans under Stefano Pioli and even though he is still on a two-year loan at the club from Chelsea, Milan would like to offload him.

It now seems unlikely that he will be leaving the club in January on a loan deal elsewhere and that is mostly due to his salary being too high for any of the interested clubs.

Bakayoko is a talented player that can be of use to other teams, but he has got salary expectations above his current perceived quality.

It would be beneficial to Milan in regard to their wage bill if they could offload the former Monaco man, especially given he would not need to be replaced.

  1. He has a family and mouths to feed, he is doing what is good for them. His signing did not go as expected. Wages higher than his skill set.
However, I dont blame him at all. His agent works in his interest not the clubs. We should get used to it.
