Official: Ballo-Toure undergoes surgery on dislocated shoulder – his recovery time

By Oliver Fisher -

Another injury blow for AC Milan has been confirmed as Fode Ballo-Toure will be out for at least four weeks following shoulder surgery.

Milan have announced on their official website that Ballo-Touré underwent the reduction and synthesis of an acromioclavicular dislocation of the right shoulder at the IRCCS Ospedale Galeazzi Sant’Ambrogio in Milan.

The operation was performed by Dr. Pozzoni and his CTS team, in the presence of first team doctor Lucio Genesio, and it was perfectly successful.  The estimated time to return to full training is four weeks, which means that Pioli will have to hope that Theo Hernandez can put in some overtime during what is a crucial January stretch.

In terms of replacing the Senegal international as the deputy to Theo, the decision could be make to switch Sergino Dest over to the left side of the defence, but the friendly against PSV last week showed that to be an idea with risk.
