Romano: Barcelona make ‘approaches’ over Kessie but not offer has been made yet

By Oliver Fisher -

There continues to be speculation that Barcelona have expressed interest in signing Franck Kessie and now Fabrizio Romano has confirmed approaches have been made.

According to Romano, nothing has ever been agreed or has been close to being agreed between Barcelona and Kessié, whose contract expires at the end of the season thus making him a real opportunity for top clubs to sign him on a free transfer.

However, the Sky journalist states that there were ‘normal approaches’ made by the Catalan side, while at the moment ‘no official proposal’ has been forthcoming from them. Meanwhile, Inter are still confident they will extend Marcelo Brozovic’s contract so he is unlikely to be a free agent opportunity for Barca.

Meanwhile, Rudy Galetti is reporting that after meeting with George Atangana – Kessie’s agent – Barcelona consider the requests too high, because the 25-year-old is looking for €8-10m net per season.
