Romano: Bayern Munich discuss Milan star internally ‘again’ – what it depends on

Bayern Munich’s interest in Rafael Leao will not go away, and there are new reflections underway regarding a potential attempt.

It felt like the sale of Tijjani Reijnders to Manchester City was the only painful sacrifice needed this summer to try balance the books, given there will be no European football in 2025-26. However, a number of other key players continue to be linked with moves, including and above all Leao.

Just when it seemed as though Bayern had given up and turned to Nico Williams of Athletic Club, reports emerged earlier in the week suggesting that they are in fact still eyeing the Portuguese.

Bayern still considering Leao

The latest update from Fabrizio Romano is as follows: “Bayern have discussed Rafael Leão again internally as winger option this week. No proposal or negotiations advancing yet.

“Bayern will wait for Nico Williams to see if the deal gets done with Barcelona… and then will re-assess options, including Leão, Barcola and more.”

In other words, we must wait to see what happens with the rest of the left-winger carousel before the Bundesliga champions potentially make a firm move. However, given the reports of Massimiliano Allegri being so keen to keep Leao, it would surely have to be an astronomical figure to sell.

  1. They should pay the full amount – no weak swaps or weird loan deals. Pay the full release clause or leave Rafa alone

  2. Bayern please why don’t you leave this boy alone for Milan. He still have a lot to offer to us, there are other players out there why don’t you go for them instead it will safe your summer time than trying to take our precious jewel from us. Or let’s make a deal you give us J. Musiala plus cash

    1. Jamal Musiala pass that level of swap deal, because his value is thesame as the value of five players from milan includin leao

  3. Perfect time for Furlani to sell him. Modric and Pulisic will be the star players selling jerseys and acting as models for the sponsors and Milan could offload the biggest salary of the team. Furlani is probably praying for Bayern to make an offer. Allegri can say whatever he wants, we know the decisions at Milan are based on business and not football. Anyway neither Allegri nor Tare would say anything in the media if they’re not pleased, we know what happens then.

  4. Sell Leao if the price is right.

In my opinion, Leao’s time with us is nearly over. Better for him to find new challenge, and for us, find new gem like Leao before.

Because Milan now want revolution with Allegri, than better we do revolution, with new players.

Players like Maignan, Theo, Tomori and Leao, I doubted they have passion anymore for this club. After bad season before, and also the ‘drama’ in transfer news.

  5. From another site:

“Christian Falk reports that Bayern Munich executives believe Nico Williams is a better option than Milan star Rafael Leao as the Portuguese ‘doesn’t contribute as effectively with his defensive work.’”

    😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀
