Tuttosport: Belotti finds himself in a difficult position while waiting for Milan’s call

By Oliver Fisher -

Andrea Belotti risks finding himself in a difficult position between now and the start of next season with several things still up in the air, a report claims.

According to reports from Tuttosport (via SempreMilan.it), there seems to be concerns about what Belotti’s state of mind will be like after his return from the national team. He now seems to be on the sidelines of Roberto Mancini’s plans having barely played over the break, and now there is no World Cup to look forward to and aim for.

His future at club level is a big unknown too, because while a free transfer could appeal to many clubs, nobody seems willing to pay the €3.6m net per season he is asking for to leave the Granata.

In recent months there has been a lot of speculation about discussions between Milan and Belotti over a potential free transfer. The Rossoneri need a striker and Il Gallo is a Milan fan since childhood, but Maldini and Massara seem to have chosen to turn to other profiles.

Divock Origi looks set to arrive on a free transfer while Gianluca Scamacca is a target too. In short, there does not seem to be any possibility for Belotti to arrive and his wait for Milan’s call may continue.

  1. He will join Inter or Napoli and become our nightmare. 3.6 per year is not a big amount of money to keep him and let him compete with Origi for starting 11.

  2. We are going to miss on a top striker and Milan fan like Belotti because Milan managment prefers to save a mil or two on taxes by choosing the cheaper option Origi. The more things they do like this, the less i have the desire to even watch this club anymore. It feels like watching a business model instead of a footbal club most of the time.

    1. It’s not so simple. I think with origi you can apply the growth decrease as he’s foregin so will knock off 50% of the cost. Bellotti is local so will hv to pay full price.

      1. This is why the nazionale struggles. This stupid foreign tax law. Milan is no longer an Italian club. What a joke. Just mercenaries now.

    2. Then don’t watch Milan. The business model you called already give us stability back after our banter period, returned us to Champions League, returned us to being a challenger to Scudetto, give us foundation of young but exciting players to build on, on the route to new stadium… Not much better can happen really.

Management will have some reason that we don’t know for not sign a striker like Belotti, not everything must be disclosed to the media lol.

      1. The business model has only money in mind. I dont know for which stability do you talk about when we can’t even spent 2-3 mil for a proper player. Casualy losing first team players for free dosen’t happen in stable clubs either. As for seria A Pioli is doing good but that’s all him. We could have won the scuddeto even last year if they strenghten the team mid season with only a RW. Same thing this year, there is hardly any competition in Italy right now they could have made it easy if they were really interested in trophies. But did you see the managment bring a good RW or AM in January. No, cause same as last year they don’t care about that. They only care about capital gain and the 50mil from CL. Money that is. Which go in Eliot pocket..Don’t be suprised when the young players are sold for capital gain later on. Cause that’s how this club is run, as a business. And it went to this from a team who was on the level of Real, Liverpool, PSG, Bayern… Sry but i prefer the original Milan who was hungry for trophies and was investing in top players. Excuse me for not really being interested in someone just making money and investing close to nothing in the club.

        1. You support wrong team my friend. Italian club cannot compete with English club or PSG / Real Madrid in term of financial. If you want support club’ that always invest top player or star player then you should go become PSG /manc city/Real Madrid . AC Milan cannot pay top player salary more than 8m euro / season and cannot pay transfer fee more than 50m euro / player. I know you like belotti but unless Ibra out/retire there is no chance they sign belotti. They already choosen origi because his internasional experience and play gegenpressing under top coach Juergen Klopp. Belotti fate for join AC Milan depend on Ibra at the end of season

        2. You’re a true milanista. Not some new age millennial beta boy like many others who will likely tell you to support a different club, etc. What they fail to see is that all clubs are the same now. Money rules all, passion is gone. I still hold out hope and am with you!

          1. True fans don’t choose their teams but the team chooses you. That’s what happened to me when I was 7 or 8 years old. Haven’t looked elsewhere since. Milan per sempre.

          2. Im already follow AC Milan since 1990 from Berlusconi new era beginning. I already see AC Milan rise on Berlusconi era with duo striker George weah and Marco simone and then fallen to darkness after Berlusconi sell AC Milan to fake investor Yong Hong Li. Even in berlusconi prime time that AC Milan never pay transfer fee 50m euro above / player. The highest player Berlusconi pay was Ibra 8m euro/year salary ,the other are below that. So do you want this Elliot sign all star player you want until you satisfied? If you are true Milanista you Will have to be realistis, our financial even below Juve in italy or below mid table EPL club’. If you don’t like AC Milan signing player then go support other club’ that have superstar player

          3. Reccaman I don’t think anybody said sign a superstar. What more people are upset about is we are no longer italian at all and in this case it was to save a very small amount of money. You have a guy like Belotti who is proven, and he would fight for this Milan as it’s his dream yet we want to save 1-2m so we takea less sure quantity to save money with the foreign tax law etc…. Some people get frustrated that everything in the sport now is about money and no longer the passion, the love, etc. It’s becoming more and more money based each year and that’s not a good thing in the end.

    3. you are absolutely correct, I understand getting the books in order ,FFP, yada yada yada, Elliott Management (hedge funds) is in it to buy low and sell high, could give two shits about the fans. Get Belotti and be done with it, rarely hurt or misses games (except this year) and on a team with mediocre players, plus he loves A.C. . Get him or Dybala, if they are available.
