CorSport: Stakes wide open regarding Belotti’s future – Milan, Napoli and Toronto keen

By Oliver Fisher -

The future of Andrea Belotti remains uncertain at the moment but it seems as though AC Milan are hanging onto the idea of signing him, a report claims.

Belotti has been linked with a move to his boyhood club Milan for several years now, but this summer coming might represent the best timing of that period because the striker’s contract will expire at the end of the season and the Rossoneri have been credited with interest in signing him on a free.

According to il Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews), it seems as though Belotti has decided not to extend his contract expiring in June because he continues refuse to the renewal proposals that have arrived from Torino.

Nothing can be excluded – not even the possibility he changes his mind – but there are several clubs that are evaluating the situation of the 28-year-old and are thinking about an offer in view of June.

Milan and Napoli are the teams in Serie A who are most interested, while from abroad the Toronto track remains alive, aiming for the Azzurri double after Lorenzo Insigne.

  1. Why would a player in his prime go to MLS? I guess money indeed talks. Insigne going there at 30 was stupid enough. Belotti is only 28! And he doesn’t seem to be a very greedy guy, at least. Also, it’s well known that his heart is in Milan. I hope we take him and don’t let a direct rival have him for free.
