MN: Bennacer gets Milan pen after signing renewal – the numbers show his importance

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have secured the renewal of midfielder Ismael Bennacer with an announcement now imminent, according to a report.

MilanNews report that Bennacer has signed a contract extension until 2027 this evening, thus becoming the latest after the likes of Fikayo Tomori and Theo Hernandez to put pen to paper on a new long-term deal, committing his future to the Rossoneri.

He signed his deal with the historic red pen with the AC Milan logo used for these occasions and – given that this is his second contract with Milan – the pen will remain his as a memento.

Meanwhile, a tweet from OptaPaolo makes it clear just how important Bennacer is to Milan. This season when factoring in all competitions, the Algerian is the player with the most games played (24, level with Kalulu), touches (1507), tackles (66), recoveries (191) and duels won (125).

A key renewal, therefore, has been secured today and will hopefully be followed by Leao’s.
