Lucas Biglia is going through a complicated season for AC Milan, with injuries and the rise of Tiemoue Bakayoko causing him difficulties to break through in the starting line-up. However, the hypothesis of a contract renewal is still very much alive.
Biglia’s agent Enzo Montepaone arrived in Italy last night and has an appointment set with Milan’s directors. The meeting will take place in the next couple of hours at Casa Milan.
“I arrive to negotiate the renewal, Lucas wants to stay”. The reality, however, is much more uncertain. There is the desire to stay but Boca Juniors are strongly interested in the midfielder.
Milan could also be interested in keeping the Argentinian but an extension will be proposed only on less advantageous conditions for the player – with a lower salary, as reported by Gazzetta dello Sport.
The contract expiring in June 2020 is a weapon in Bilgia’s favour: he can push to get sold at reasonable figures, far less than the 25 million euros for which he was bought from Lazio two years ago. Milan could agree with this solution in order to save costs and perhaps focus on the redemption of Bakayoko from Chelsea.
