Bild: Milan, Arsenal and Man Utd target pens new Leipzig deal – details of the €50m clause

By Oliver Fisher -

Reported AC Milan target Dayot Upamecano has penned a new contract that will keep him at RB Leipzig until 2023, a report claims.

We reported via Vito Angele earlier in the month that Milan are keeping a close eye on Upamecano, though it was linked to the arrival of Ralf Rangnick as manager.

The RB Leipzig defender’s contract was set to expire in 2021 and and it was reported that Milan could get him at a good price, though Waldeckische Landeszeitung – among other sources – credited Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal with interest too.

According to Bild (via Sport.de), the ink is already dry and Upamecano has penned a new deal at RB Leipzig. The 21-year-old is now bound to the Saxony club until 2023 instead of until 2021.

Interestingly, Leipzig have agreed to put a release clause into the deal of €50million euros – but it will not become active until next summer at the earliest.
