Yann Bisseck is already thinking ahead to the Coppa Italia derby in the semi-final between AC Milan and Inter.
As a reminder, Milan booked their spot in the semis by beating Roma 3-1 at the beginning of the month. Tammy Abraham netted twice against his parent club and then Santiago Gimenez set up fellow debutant Joao Felix for the third goal.
The Rossoneri knew that a derby could well be on the cards just as it was potentially for Roma too, given that Inter vs. Lazio was the other quarter-final on that side of the bracket and thus the winner would play Milan.
The Nerazzurri were the ones who eventually prevailed 2-0 last night, with Marko Arnautovic and Hakan Calhanoglu getting the goals. Revenge will be on their mind, given they have lost two of three derbies this season.
Bisseck spoke in the press conference room at San Siro after Inter’s victory over Lazio in the quarter-finals last night, and he was asked about facing Milan in the next round.
“Now let’s think about the present and not go beyond that, we need to focus on the next matches. We are not thinking about the Coppa Italia derby against Milan, but we clearly want to win it. I don’t think Milan are stronger than us,” he said (via MilanPress).
The dates for the two legs are not set in stone yet but it is likely the first game (with Milan the home team) will be in early April, with the return three weeks later.
Continue to thinks man even Thiago Mota speaks like that but Milan beat them in supper coppa Italia is true that inter is a strong team but Ac Milan still have full 180 minutes(90*2 first and second leg)to prouve you wrong ☺️I believe in my team 🔥🔥
i believe in my team but objectively, he isnt wrong. Talent wise (as in at their best like-for-like) we are more talented. But we dont really have solid game plan, the squad is fractured, our coach has been on the job for a few months and our stars but their best whenever they want.
Inter on the other hand is a well oiled machine at this moment. No shame in that, we are a work in progress. The good thing about cup competitions is that it is 90 or 180 mins, anything can happen.
took off his diapers and now thinks that he’s a man… adorable…
He is right.
I’ve been wondering, why are we so fixated on what we’ve lost?
Can’t we just move on and explore better options?
It seems like some fans are stuck in the past, constantly asking management to bring back Maldini, Tonali, or an Italian coach, as if they were perfect.
In my opinion, there are better sporting directors than Maldini.
As for Tonali, his departure was actually a blessing in disguise. We sold him to Newcastle for a substantial amount, and later discovered he was involved in football betting, which would have left us with an unavailable player for an entire season.
Regarding the calls for an Italian coach, didn’t we criticize Pioli last season for not knowing how to win?
I believe Conceição is doing a great job, and once the players learn to work together as a team, we’ll have a formidable side that’s hard to beat or score against.
Can’t wait the Inter-guys (especially The Doublechin Inzaghi) to remind us again how they were robbed in the Super Coppa final with the alleged foul on Asslani. 😀
