Warren Bondo was a late arrival on deadline day, but the midfielder has not had a chance to make his first AC Milan appearance yet due to injury.
Every one of the winter signings has had a chance to make an impact so far, and whilst Riccardo Sottil is hoping to make his league debut at the weekend, he has still had some minutes in a Milan shirt.
The only one left to do this now is Bondo, who arrived on deadline day with an injury which he picked up in the fortnight prior to his big move. Work has been ongoing since the start of February to have him ready for Sergio Conceicao, but there has been a blow.
Unfortunately, the midfielder is not going to be ready to play this weekend, like was originally hoped, as Milan News reports that the Frenchman is still partaking in individual training making an appearance tomorrow impossible.
It is, instead, hoped that he can be ready for next week’s game against Torino, where he will have hopefully begun training with his teammates. However, it is probably worth noting that the report suggests that he will hope to travel, not start, so he may still not be 100% ready next week.
Signing someone whose return from injury gets repeatedly delayed is the perfect like-for-like Bennacer replacement.
Bondo is not injury prone like Bennacer and he is also much younger. So it’s not like for like in terms of injury records.
signing an injured player is a mistake full stop.
That is why they have a medical
Not when Benny forced his way out the last day and you had to find a fast replacement…
I’m not going to get into Benny on this one.
The management had a month, in fact they had months before January where every dog on the street knew we needed a midfielder.
I’d take back Kessie, Benny, Tonali and Krunic over the midfield we have now any day
