Di Marzio: Botman, Mahrez, Renato Sanches and more – latest on Milan’s summer mercato

By Oliver Fisher -

Gianluca Di Marzio has given an update on a number of different names that have been linked with AC Milan in the last few weeks.

The well-known Sky journalist spoke at an even at the Perugia Calcio sports centre for the University of Football in Rome and he was asked for some updates on the Milan transfer market as the summer mercato draws nearer.

As MilanLive report, he confirmed ‘Botman and Origi are real, real names’ but added that ‘until the change of ownership takes place it will remain difficult to know the details’. Nonetheless, there are still ‘negotiations that can already be defined now’ and Origi from Liverpool is ‘the closest name’ at the moment.

With regards to the midfield, there ‘have been steps forward’ in talks over Lille’s Renato Sanches. He added that Mahrez is an  ‘impossible’ target at the moment, while Berardi is a player the management are ‘talking about’ but he is not the first choice.

Finally, Di Marzio claims that Romagnoli ‘met Lazio 20 days ago for the last time’ but the Biancocelesti’s offer is lower than what he currently earns at Milan and for this reason he could stay and renew his contract.

      1. U’re wrong bro. Dembele is now healthier than Zlatan & Rebic thats why he wants leave Barcelona for better place which is for me Milan could be right place for him. Then if you call Dembele a lazy how do we manage Leao???

  1. @Marco, I’m dreaming of that front 4. If we get them I think schudetto copa Italia, and UCL and…………. Wow!!! It’ll be triple for us

  2. That would be an amazing front 4, probably we could afford it though. Dembele alone earns £250k per week, plus the wages for the others would be high. Not to mention they will all be involved in a bidding war with the biggest teams.

If we can win the league, then would help attract players for sure.

  3. PLEASE NO to Ousmane Dembele. He is inconsistent and lacks focus and workrate. He would be a huge waste and loss of money.

Renato Sanches works hard and is good on the ball and will surely be MUCH MUCH cheaper than Dembele (and actually a better player for the team than Dembele).
