CM: Botman chooses Milan’s project over the Premier League – when the deal should be complete

By Oliver Fisher -

A lot of rumours have been doing the rounds recently suggesting that AC Milan are very close to sealing the signing of Sven Botman from Lille, but there may be a wait for pen on paper.

Fabrizio Romano reported yesterday that Milan are closing in on completing a move for Botman, who has been linked with the club for many months. Talks are at an advanced stage and he could be the first signing for next season, as the 23-year-old is ‘ready to accept’ the offer of Milan.

According to Calciomercato.com, Milan and Botman are getting closer and closer to uniting ahead of the 2022-23 season. The Dutch defender was fascinated by the project that Paolo Maldini pitches to him, and he chose the Rossoneri despite offers from several Premier League clubs.

To close the deal with Lille though we might have to wait for a bit longer, essentially when mathematical qualification for the next Champions League has been sealed, essentially guaranteeing the extra revenues that will help finance the deal.
