Romano: Botman ‘ready to accept’ Milan move as agreement with Lille is imminent

By Isak Möller -

Milan are currently in the middle of a very tight Scudetto race, one point clear at the top, but plans are also being made for next season. Sven Botman could be one of the first signings this summer, a report claims.

The Rossoneri have their eyes on a few positions that need strengthening for next season and one of them is the centre-back role. They are currently on five consecutive clean sheets, but Alessio Romagnoli’s potential exit will force them to act nevertheless.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Milan are closing in on completing a move for Botman, who has been linked with the club for many months. Talks are at an advanced stage and he could be the first signing for next season, per the report.

Botman is ‘ready to accept’ the offer of Milan, who are working hard to reach a final agreement with Lille on the transfer fee. Indeed, the Dutch international would be quite the statement signing for Milan ahead of next season.

  1. Our pairing CB Will be good for 8-9 years with botman- Tomori starter and kalulu-mattia viti- gabbia as rotation

    1. Exactly. If he was 10-15m, I could get it. But for that price of 30m + his wages, we could address our teams true needs, RW, AM, ST. As I like to state a lot, I like Botman and think he’s a great talent but for this current team this is not a smart allocation of our resources as it does nothing to address our current problems. Would Botman have helped us beat Bologna? Would he be faring any better than the defenders we already have?… food for thought.

  2. This is a strange way of prioritizing reinforcing the squad. For me the only two positions we MUST get more quality is RW and striker (given that G and Z are to old).

    1. We already have lazetic as young striker and origi( come next season as free transfer) . How much striker do you want in squad? Our weakness pos are RW and we need AMF to compete with brahim
