AC Milan booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League and the record shows that it was Brahim Diaz who netted the winner.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report how Milan’s budget in 2021-22 saw a loss of €66.5m but for the current season it is expected to improve to about -€25m, so it is reasonable to imagine that the next one could go very close to breaking even.
It is a huge feat considering that the 2019-20 financial year ended with a loss of €194.6m, and it shows a virtuous path that keeps getting better thanks to injections like the Scudetto win.
Reaching the quarter-finals is worth €20m to Milan and as mentioned Brahim Diaz had a leading role in helping to achieve that. While over-simplified, the money he helped the Rossoneri earn could be used to buy him permanently from Real Madrid.
Finishing in the top four will be a decisive factor, and of course it doesn’t just boil down to that, but Milan intend to work on lowering the €22m option to buy agreed with Real Madrid in 2021 as part of the current two-year loan.
A lot will depend on Real’s willingness to be flexible, but the winning goal in the last 16 tie could play a part in deciding Brahim Diaz’s future.
Just not worth the $20M. Full stop.
Even he he was, if he somehow makes huge progress until the end of the season, Real still have a buy back clause.
20 million looks cheap for his latest superb performance. In EPL, he would be worth 50-70 millions.
Why not worth worth than that.? If they bought CDK for much more than that, they must just discuss with madrid to lower the price and buy him
Serie a he doesn’t shine but in champions league he definitely does. He had a world class performance against Tottenham. The way teams play in champions league suits him so much, if only serie a could be the same
He’s been a key member of the team recently, anyone still disputing what he brings to the team I can’t understand – he’s incredibly hard working, a proper team player, he’s been working on strength and even if end product isn’t 100%, it’s been better than previous years and any of his direct replacements
He performed better and consistent compare to last season. I don’t mind if Milan buy him permanently.
