CM: Milan and Real Madrid have unwritten agreement over €22m playmaker deal – the situation

By Mitchell Wilks -

Milan are preparing to discuss the possibility of making Brahim Diaz’s move from Real Madrid a permanent one as early as this summer, according to a report.

Diaz returned to San Siro following an initial season-long loan in 2020/21, agreeing to a further two-year loan spell where he has impressed around a bout of COVID-19.

Calciomercato.com reports that the Rossoneri have an option to purchase Diaz for €22m and could discuss activating that a year early, thanks to a gentleman’s agreement.

Real Madrid can also buy back Diaz for a €27m fee according to the report, should they see a future for him at the Santiago Bernabeu once again.

Diaz has racked up four goals and four assists in all competitions this season, starting the campaign in red-hot form. The 22-year-old endured a rough patch following a period with COVID-19, but has looked back to his best in more recent weeks.

  1. how long will the 27M buy-back deal last for Real?

What if Diaz value sky-rockes to like 50-60-70M in like 2-3 years, then it would suck for us to lose him for 27M – only for Real to re-sell him at the higher valuation..

    1. I mean, those are the terms of the deal, otherwise there’d be no Diaz at all and therefore nothing at all to make. Not sure what you’re crying about.

  2. They pretty much f***** Moratta, when he was playing at a very high level at juve and presumably becoming one of the best in the world in his position.

  3. I don’t think he is worth the investment, let it be another loan, as for now he isn’t consistent enough, and mostly gone from the match

  4. Milan will change the agreement guys, that’s why we trying to close the deal early and and however it will benefit Milan to change the agreement and buy back clause this summer. He not in superb form right now.

  5. Nothing against Diaz but unfortunately I can’t think of other top European team who gives #10 jersey to a loanee 🙁 I hope Diaz realizes how highly he’s thought about by Milan’s management.

As thing stands, I don’t think there’s a rush to accelerate the deal though. Let’s see how the season plays out before deciding.

  6. Let me understand this, so we can not buy favire or Pessina or Barak for 15m+ or even sign dybala for free but we wanna spend 22m on a dude that have his heart set on returning to Madrid, highly inconsistent, light weight compared to the league, have a buy back clause and can’t even show up at tough stages….trashy management.

  7. No way Diaz is going to increase in value to anywhere near 50, 60 millions. He has his dribbling and two footedness in his favor but even if he becomes consistent he’s just too weak in stature to challenge at the highest level.

Messi’s stature is the same but he’s an exception since he’s a genius. Anything other than that will end up as a Giovinco in best case scenario.
