AC Milan playmaker Brahim Diaz is relishing the chance to face off against Atletico Madrid and hopes to continue his excellent recent form.

Brahim Diaz spoke to Milan TV on the eve of the game at San Siro, with his comments relayed by MilanNews.

“I feel important, I had a good start to the season. I know I am a good player and I have a lot of confidence in myself. The credit is also due to my teammates of course, how we approach matches how we are playing as a truly a united group. We are more than a team, we are a family. We spend a lot of time together and we help each other a lot,” he said.

A crowd of over 38,000 are expected at San Siro to see the team’s first home Champions League game since 2014, which fittingly was against Atletico in the Round of 16.

“The match against Atletico Madrid will be a high-level match, it will be difficult for us but it will be difficult for them too because we are a strong team. We want to win, also playing well. We like to play games like that,” he added.

“Having had a past at Real Madrid, the game against Atletico is a derby, but I am now a Milan player and I want to do well only for the Rossoneri and bring home the three points.”

On the Champions League: “Being in the Champions League with this shirt is special, just look at how many titles this club has won. Tomorrow will be a great match.”
