Cagliari vs. AC Milan: Live updates and commentary from the Serie A clash

That’s a huge win for Milan and Allegri. As we have seen so many times before this season, the first half was really poor but the second was a lot better. In the end, the Rossoneri deserved the win, moving to the top of the standings as well. FORZA MILAN!

Nothing major, just a little argument with a Cagliari player there.

Modric hits a free-kick under the wall and nearly catches out the keeper, but it didn’t have enough power in the end.

Pulisic forces the keeper to a good save after nice work by Fullkrug and Ricci.

We are entering the nerve-racking stage of the game, but at least for now, Milan have pretty good control (knock on wood!). It would be great with a second goal.

It will be very interesting to see Fullkrug get so many minutes here tonight, but the sub made sense given Leao’s struggles to run at full capacity.

Milan have done very well since the goal, making life difficult for Cagliari with long spells of possession, smart moves in attack and more.

Get in! Fofana does really well to pick out Rabiot’s run, and the Frenchman finds Leao in the box. The No.10 makes no mistakes with his left-footed finish, beating the goalkeeper to make it 1-0!

Saelemaekers finds Loftus-Cheek in the box but he fails to hit the target with his header.

Leao hits the bar! However, it looked like the ball had crossed the line before, which is what the referee blew his whistle for as well.

45 minutes to go for the Rossoneri, and they will need to do a whole lot better to clinch all three points…

It was a very poor first half from Milan, with zero shots on target, and no real chances created either. Cagliari also had some really good moments which could have resulted in something more, so Allegri will need to do something during the break.

The referee awards a penalty for Milan but the flag is up for offside on Leao before. Right decision by the looks of it.

The game has evened out a lot more. Milan have been able to keep possession in longer spells, which has ruined Cagliari’s momentum a little. The Rossoneri have also done slightly better in attack.

Milan have squandered some good counterattack opportunities so far. Leao has looked good in the hold-up play but he hasn’t looked fit enough to make the most of the possession afterwards.

Cagliari have been the better side so far. They are moving the ball around well and have created some difficulties for Milan at the back.

Better from Milan, and very nicely done by Loftus-Cheek who sets up Saelemaekers. Leao’s shot is then blocked.

Cagliari finding some space already, Milan way off in terms of structure at the back, with big gaps between each player.

The game is underway at Unipol Domus. As has been highlighted by many in the build-up, this is an incredibly important game for the Rossoneri.
