Caldara starts friendly for Spezia despite transfer not being officially announced

By Oliver Fisher -

Even though Mattia Caldara’s move to Spezia has not yet been officially announced, he is starting their friendly against Stenden today.

TMW are reporting that the centre-back’s loan switch to the Ligurian club has not yet been made official, but he will still be able to take the field thanks to the clearance granted by Milan.

He is starting as part of a 3-4-2-1 formation, with the team as follows: Zovko; Caldara, Hristov, Capradossi; Podgoreanu, Ellertsson, Kornvig, Gyasi; Green, Agudelo; Strelec.

MilanNews recently reported that Caldara will move to Spezia on an initial season-long loan and they have a right to make the deal permanent for €3m next summer. As part of the negotiation for Caldara with Spezia, Milan have managed to obtain the right to first refusal for two Spezia players, namely Polish defender Jakub Kiwior who is going to be observed during the World Cup in Qatar and also French defender Kelvin Amian.
