CM: Caldara unlikely to remain at Venezia – Milan contacted by another Serie A club

By Oliver Fisher -

Mattia Caldara will return to Milan at the end of the season as things stand and a club have enquired about his availability, a report claims.

Caldara was sent out on loan to the newly-promoted side on a season-long loan and he has racked up 22 appearances in Serie A and 2 in the Coppa Italia, with one goal and one assist to his name thus far. However, he is unlikely to stay as Venezia are in relegation trouble and even if they stay up they would have to pay a few million to keep him.

According to reports from Calciomercato.com, an exploratory survey has come from Torino who are interested in signing him in the summer, given that they are likely to lose their own central defender in Gleison Bremer in the summer.

Caldara is now 27 and has battled several serious injuries in the last few seasons, and his contract with Milan expires in 2023 which is likely to bring his asking price down.
