AC Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu has revealed his favoured position and has reiterated that he feels ‘comfortable’ at the club.
Calhanoglu has been virtually a permanent fixture in the starting XI since his arrival from Bayer Leverkusen back in the summer of 2017, with Vincenzo Montella, Gennaro Gattuso and now Stefano Pioli using him heavily.
The Turkey international was asked a number of questions by fans on Milan’s official Instagram account, with his responses transcribed by MilanNews and translated by us below.
On his knowledge of Italian: “When I arrived in Milan it was very difficult for me, I am working to speak it better. It took me about a year and a half to learn it.”
On his most important goal: “The goal against Atalanta”.
On the favourite role: “I like the attacking midfielder, I grew up playing in this role in Germany, I like playing there.”
On Italy: “I feel comfortable here at Milan, in Italy, it’s a beautiful country. I like people here in Italy, they are simple and very close to the Turks, I like this.”
On the fans: “I hope they are well with their families, it is a difficult period for everyone but we must be strong and follow all the rules. We hope to see you soon in San Siro.”
On the brace against Torino: “I entered the bench and changed the game, but the most important thing was to have won. It was an incredible day.”
