Francesco Camarda is seemingly heading towards another Serie A call-up this weekend for AC Milan after Alvaro Morata’s injury.
The 16-year-old has become somewhat of a first team mainstay in recent weeks, with him receiving several senior call-ups whilst also having some minutes for the Futuro side. Whilst his minutes for the first team have been limited, he has still been given opportunites for Milan, which is only a good thing in the grand scheme.
It seems that the opportunities will keep coming for him as well. With the news of Morata’s injury, Paulo Fonseca is left with only three strikers available, and whilst it seems very likely that Tammy Abraham will be the starting striker, Camarda could be involved.
According to Calciomercato.com, Luka Jovic could return this weekend, but it is not guaranteed. For this reason, Camarda is heading towards a ‘new call-up’ which would be his fifth of the Serie A season.
Once again, he will dream of minutes on the pitch and if Jovic is unable to return, his chances of minutes will increase substantially, given he would be the only other option. It would be possible that his time on the pitch is extended past the usual cameos, in the case that Abraham is not able to last 75/80 minutes.
Give him a start. Give the kid a chance
I disagree. Let him make some appearances and test the waters.
First we need to climb the table. He isn’t ready for a starting role.
Second he is developing. A bad game or bad pass can kill him mentally. Especially if a mistake of his turns into a goal against us.
He is not a sensitive talent. He is a generational gem, there is a slight difference there.
He should get 30 mins. Can’t keep him sidelined if you’re not going to use him…
12 hours after this article, Fonseca announces that he’s starting Camarda tomorrow against Cagliari. LMAO.
