AC Milan owner Gerry Cardinale has given his thoughts after the club secured three important renewals in less than 24 hours.
On Thursday evening, it was confirmed that Luka Modric will indeed be doing a second season with Milan. He put pen to paper on a new one-year deal, also ending speculation about retirement or a possible return to Real Madrid to be a coach.

Cardinale gave a comment to La Gazzetta dello Sport after the announcement, revealing his delight that the Rossoneri leadership were able to convince the Croatian champion to extend his stay until 2027.
“I am personally thrilled and grateful to Luka for renewing his faith in the club and in the new project we are undertaking. Luka’s reputation speaks for itself, it is recognition he has earned on the pitch,” he said (via MilanNews).
“He is a winner and perfectly embodies AC Milan’s values. Having him on the pitch and in the dressing room for next season represents another important step in the new project started under my ownership.”
Friday was also a big day for Milan’s future, perhaps in a more long-term sense. The club confirmed the renewals of Francesco Camarda and Christian Comotto, with both signing extensions until 2031. There is the option for another year too, and Cardinale gave his reaction again.
“Our long-term commitment to renewing the contracts of Camarda and Comotto is fully consistent with the vision I have set out for the club since becoming its owner.
“We will prioritise players who have come through our youth sector, guide them along their development path, and maximise their potential so that they can contribute to the team’s success on the pitch. Both represent the very best of AC Milan: our academy and the direction the club intends to take in the future.
“Wearing the AC Milan shirt must be a privilege. And that is exactly what we want to focus on, making sure we have an organisation capable of developing players who best embody the values of AC Milan and what the club will stand for in the years to come.
“Both Camarda and Comotto are the embodiment of what it means to be AC Milan: we play to win, and they are winners.”
